Piankatank River, VA
The serpentine Piankatank River, although not as large as some Virginia rivers, offers extensive cruising possibilities, beautiful anchorages, foul weather protection and an abundance of boating amenities. You will have most of the upper reaches of the river to yourself as most cruising boats do not go beyond the Jackson Creek or Fishing Bay entrances to Deltaville. You will see all sorts of vessels at small neighborhood marinas in tributaries such as Wilton Creek and at private docks up the numerous side creeks and coves.
