Lime Island, MI
Lime Island was once a major refueling stop on the St. Marys River for commercial ships. Coal was stockpiled on the island then loaded onto ships at a long wharf.
Today rental cottages are along the harbor, which originally served as homes to the men who worked the refueling station. There are large, well-maintained grassy areas and trails across and around the island.
