Montauk is famous for tuna, marlin, swordfish and shark fishing in its offshore waters and for outstanding sportfishing and yachting facilities ashore. The surf around Montauk Point serves as one of the East Coast’s premier striped bass fisheries and the area has become a hotbed of saltwater fly fishing.

Excellent marinas cater to sportfishing and cruising vessels of all descriptions. The place buzzes with activity during the summer yet it is easy to escape to a quiet spot with a near-empty seascape. The beaches are superb both on the Block Island Sound side and Atlantic Ocean side. The classic Montauk Lighthouse beckons and the picturesque nearby village has all the necessary amenities.
