The anchorage is fairly narrow. We rafted bow to stern. By setting both anchors it prevented us from turning. A sailboat had anchored further upstream. We had a peaceful night. It is a mud bottom with very little current.

Anchorage Review for Tombigbee Oxbow

Draft: 4.2'Overall Rating:5Holding:5Wind Protection:5Current Flow:4Wake Protection:5Scenic Beauty:5Ease of Shopping:1WiFi:3We anchored up stream past the boat ramp. We had 14 feet depth and great holding. Anchor came up clean. There was one other boat anchored. There is plenty of room for more boats. Only negative was we had very little head current moving down river. By early morning the wind had switched directions causing us to spin around 180 degrees.

Marina Review for Commodore Yacht Club

We had our boat at Commodore Yacht Club for 2 months (October & November 2024) while on the Great Loop. We flew back and forth to home for work. Belita and Tracy were so helpful. They kept an eye on our boat while we were gone. We can't say enough about them and the wonderful people at the marina. Everyone was so friendly and welcoming. Belita took us to Walmart to provision before we left. We would highly recommend this marina. Great side trip if you are on the Great Loop. Easy entrance to the marina.
