First time was a Sunday night. Lots of boats anchored but still plenty of room. Once anchored we took our dog to shore on dinghy and tied off at dinghy dock. The view of Miami is outstanding, especially at night. Only negative first night was a party boat with extremely loud music until 5:30 am. However, on the way back, we stopped on a Tuesday night and evening was very quiet all night. Was Awesome! Our anchor was set okay with one anchor adjustment. We also set the anchor alarm but was secure all night. Will definitely use this anchorage again.

Good holding in sand/mud. Unfortunately we arrived on a Sunday and the area was full of boats. We found a opening in front of the stadium about half way to the opposite shore. It quieted down on the weekdays but still a lot of activity. This is a good option for a short term stay but if more than a few days I will use another location. Law enforcement stopped by on our second day and said an event was planned for the upcoming weekend and all boats would have to move to the north side of the waterway. He also said future plans were to eliminate anchoring at the marina stadium.

The anchorage was crowded but we were able to easily find a place to anchor. The music didn't stop until way past 9:00 pm. The view of the city lit up at night was amazing. It was the easiest place to land a dinghy and take the dog for a walk. I would stop again but more midweek.

Crowded and noisy but well protected with good holding. Shore access is possible but you are landing your dinghy next to the highway. You are in downtown Miami while sitting out on you back deck watching the Million Dollar Miami Skyline. I would not want to spend a week here but we love spending the night, knowing we will be far away the following day. We were there mid-week so the music actually stopped early. We had a good night's rest. One thing that we did remark on was the presence of four LE boats from different jurisdictions patrolling the area. Cell coverage was excellent. Nothing in our experience would keep us from coming back the next time through.

On the weekends it's a totally different scene than on the weekdays. Weekends are filled with loud music and jet skis, the weekdays are quiet and enjoyable. This is a very well protected anchorage from all sides, a stunning view of Miami, and beats the $5+ per foot rate in the surrounding marinas. Use beaches for shore access. Good holding in sand/ mud. No problems even in heavy wind. Bus stops at Marine Stadium for access to the city. Walk across Rickenbaker Causeway and spend the day at Virginia Key beach with a nice view, swimming in Biscayne Bay, which is a dog friendly beach (rare in FL), and food trucks for lunch.

Prepare yourself for extremely loud incessant Hispanic music and jet skis that are wreckless (one hit a boat and fled the seen). If you can't close your boat up at night to help hide the noise and don't want to be up until 3 am, look elsewhere. We stayed a Wednesday night and it was still VERY noisy. Not kid friendly at all. This was a last resort stop as the fuel dock was closed.

Not a quiet bucolic anchorage with lots of boats partying on the weekend, but it didn't bother us- was actually entertaining. Beautiful night view of the Miami skyline.

The holding is secure and protected 360 if you snug up into the southeast end. There is a sandy beach to land your dinghy on the north side and a running trail. We get ice at the marina on the south side of the anchorage which is also a restaurant. There's plenty of room to anchor so you never feel crowded. The area is also used by sailing clubs training for Olympic and other sailing events which are fun to watch. You can approach either side of the island an anchor in 8 to 10 ft of water. The view at night of the Miami skyline is stunning.

Great protection from foul weather, beautiful view of downtown Miami and several beach options for dog walks. Jet skis and wake boarders use this area on the weekends.
