The anchorage is fairly narrow. We rafted bow to stern. By setting both anchors it prevented us from turning. A sailboat had anchored further upstream. We had a peaceful night. It is a mud bottom with very little current.

With our 14 ft beam boat, we did not feel confident going into the narrow creek due to overhanging trees. In depths of 9 ft of water we dropped 30 ft of chain. We set a stern anchor to minimize our swing. There were two tows that came through in the evening and early morning. One waked us pretty good and the second we felt no wake at all. Our anchors held us firm.

Not super wide, but wide enough that we could cross anchor with our buddy boat, bow to stern, which held us securely in place. The minimal current wouldn't be enough to hold a boat in the center, so a stern anchor would be necessary otherwise. Protected, quiet and lovely spot. There were quite a few fishing boats running in and out, but their wakes weren't an issue at all. Excellent anchorage for us!

If you get there early please pull up around the bend so boats thinking that they can get into Bashi's, but can't, can get in. We had to anchor just barely inside the mouth but had good holding in 12 feet. We had three boats rafted up as "earlier" boats did not turn the bend. Two ten ft beam and one very large catamaran (26' beam ?)

Stay slightly to port coming in, but watch for the small snag on that side. Saw no less than 7.5' all the way back to the first bend. There are overhanging branches, but easy to dodge, and the creek widens out at the bend, deepens then settles back to 10', perfect for anchoring. There is a slight flow out of the creek so anchor facing in. There are sometimes small fishing boats coming and going, but pretty polite for the most part. Chatted with a few of them in 2020.

Found good depth around the bend 200 yards up the river. Used a stern anchor to keep us from swinging, and took our zodiacs a couple of miles up river, which was really nice. Local fishermen will pass you when you are at anchor. Depth was good with 7-9 feet the entire way up.

Attempted to enter lake on north side but narrowed even more with 2 ft depth. Tight backing out. Finally anchored on south shore 0.29 mi from entrance in 7 ft. Good hold in mud with bow and stern anchors. Quiet. Some fast moving fisherman (without nav lights) use the creek too. Good potential for bugs.

Not a lot of swing room, but it was calm with good holding, so shortened scope rather than use a stern anchor. Voice cell (Verizon) ok, but no data. Current switched directions about 4 pm.

Fair current, suggest aft anchor. We had a 42 carver and it was tight turning around.
Quiet location there were 5 boats on the night we stayed. 3 miles from Bobby's.View location on the Waterway Guide Explorer

We did not go into the creek because there was already a 45' boat tied up to the southern shore about 200 yards in. We know that two other large boats joined them later in the evening. Reports from the three were positive. Depths reported to be 8 feet minimum normal pool and good depth up against the banks. By visual inspection this looks like a good alternative to Bobby's. No shore access. Cell strength 2 bars Verizon, one bar for ATT and T-Mobile.
