Sanford, FL

Sanford, located at the southeast side of Lake Monroe (Mile 155), was at one time an important river port and the largest celery-producing area in the nation but it is now a pleasure boat center.
Here you enter civilization again with businesses, stores, motels and accommodations for cruising boats. Sanford is home to Riverwalk, a 2-mile paved walking and bike path that meanders along Lake Monroe. It is a great way to spend a day.

The downtown area of New Smyrna Beach begins only 1 block away from the municipal marina where a variety of restaurants and shops line the streets for local shoppers and visitors.
The fort-like coquina ruins in Old Fort Park lead some historians to believe New Smyrna was originally the site of St. Augustine and that it could be even 500 years older. Across the Musson Bridge and 2 miles to the east is an extraordinarily wide, sandy ocean beach that extends 13 miles.

The Waterway Guide Team has gained extensive boating knowledge over the years, and now we are sharing all of the tips, skills and tools we’ve picked up along the way!
