Key West, FL
Key West's Old Town is the city's main attraction. Beyond the boutiques, wonderful eateries, seasoned drinking holes and countless T-shirt shops, this is a place to find a sitting spot and just watch as the throngs pass by. Be sure to get a few blocks off Duval St. and have a look at the city's beautifully preserved and restored buildings. Pick up a free Key West map before you start out, available at most marinas and many shops. The free "Duval Loop" bus is a great way to get around the downtown. Walk one way and take the bus back. Be sure to stop for a photo-op at the Southernmost Point of the continental U.S. (90 miles north of Cuba) and at Mallory Square, famous for its nightly sunset celebration featuring street performers, food vendors and a beautiful sunset view over the Gulf of Mexico.
There is a West Marine at 951 Caroline St. (305-296-0953) and the well-stocked Key West Marine Hardware at 818 Caroline St. (305-294-3425).
