We were one of three boats parked along this dock. There's no power or water. It's very close to town, with a nice coffee/ice cream shop, some other restaurants, and a handful of shops. The free Piggly Wiggly shuttle makes provisioning convenient. This dock is right next to a boatyard doing work on very large fishing boats so it was noisy during the day and very bright at night. Part of the dock is reserved for pumpout use. A good free stop along the way, but you'll probably have to get there early to get a spot.

What a jewel of a spot to spend a night. Great little coffee house in sight of this slip or directly across the street from the other city dock.
If you want to spend more time in Oriental the anchorage is very comfortable but small.

Super friendly sailing community! The town of Oriental definitely knows how to make sailors feel welcome, as there are more registered sailboats than residents, which means most residents own a boat!
There are two town docks, both of which are free for up to 48 hours, not to be confused with the Oriental Marina and Inn, which is right next door. There is no dockmaster, and these docks are available first come, first serve. There is no water nor electricity, hence free dockage, but there is a clean bathroom, trash, and recycling available. There is also free pumpout at the water end of Town Dock #2, which is right next to Oriental Marina's fuel dock.
The Oriental Marina and Inn will allow showers to be bought, and they provide towels and soap if you want!
Everything you need is within walking distance; the Provision Company has complimentary bicycle rental and the Piggly Wiggly has a free shuttle - we walked there to stretch our legs, let the customer service desk know we'd like to take the shuttle back, did our shopping, and only had to wait a couple minutes for the manager to take us back to the marina.
Have fun walking around town and looking for the "protected dragon nesting sites" and other signs of dragons!

We were lucky to get on this free dock after attempts to anchor failed to produce an available spot. Such a nice town! We walked and biked and really enjoyed our 48 hours here. Had fun wondering around the Provision Co, had good sandwiches at Oriental Deli and topped it off with milk shakes at The Bean (the coffee smelled amazing but it was too late in the day for me).
No hook ups but there is free pump out and trash and recycling.

A perfect place in an active fisheries harbor and a nice town. The dock is well built and very protected. With a draft of 6.2' we got stuck at the fuel dock side and tried the other side, where we found 6.3'(!) ... all good.

Free for 48 hrs per 30 days. Anchorage for 4 boats inside the breakwall. 7 days max. Stout new dock. Pumpout at water end. Pilings have vertical wood strips so lines don't touch the piling. No cleats, just tie to the pilings. Clean restrooms next to the dock. No electric, no water. Room for 2 large sailboats or 4 smaller ones. Tide is wind driven. No current. Well protected. WiFi nearby. Often a large red commercial fishing boat on the next dock. The other side is a marinas fuel dock where you can get water if you are buying fuel. See their Dockmaster to pay for the use of their showers.
