Alred Marina was a wonderful stopover. The approach is somewhat long; you have to leave the Tennessee river and travel over a mile up into the lagoon.

It was a little stressful because the depth finder and the charts disagreed: it seemed like there was 8 - 10 feel LESS water than the charts indicated.

Novice skipper. I forgot about weeds. Whatever is growing on the bottom of that little estuary is healthy and tall. There was plenty of water, even for my 5' 6" draft sailboat. My sonar LIED to me.

Russ has plenty of transient space with plenty of water right up to the dock. Diesel and gasoline are available and 24 hour self-service.

No restaurant, but all the other basics are there: laundry, showers, boatyard, etc. Everything is clean and well-maintained.

We had three issues while there: the courtesy car had an electrical issue that almost left us stranded (but didn't), there was a fire on another dock (somebody mis-used a heater), and there was a regional power failure, cutting power to the whole marina.

None of these things were under the Marina's control, but they comped us a night for our inconvenient.

I highly recommend Alred Marina if you are in the neighborhood, and will stay with them again if I am ever out that way.

Easy to book on Dockwa, with well-marked entrance channel. Friendly staff, nice private bathrooms and showers, laundry and courtesy car. Transient slips are exposed to southwest winds and waves. Not much in the area, but we enjoyed our stay here.

Professional service yard. Completed work for us and did a great job to specification. Marina has laundry, showers, restrooms, pool, gas, diesel, and pump out. Friendly, welcoming, and easy to work with. Great location.

Russ and his team are great to work with. The description of the marina needs to be updated. There's now a pool with grills as well. Short walking trail as well.

Russ was awesome. Got there late. They had already told me where to go. Full time boat residents were great help. Planned to have some routine maintenance done. They jumped right on it and hit it done quickly. Great people pleasant surroundings. 24 hour fuel dock. Got free nights for gas purchased. Would definitely recommend.
