This is a great stop, Last time we came through they were still fixing all the hurricane damage. They have done a great job!

Amazing dockhands! I had reached out to them on Dockwa to let them know I had a broken foot and asked for a slip close to shore! When we called them on the radio, they remembered my request and gave us 2 slip options and were right there helping the Captain with the lines. The docks are in great shape. There are 2 restaurants on site; we liked the food and service at Rusty Hook. The staff was also very helpful when we left the marina the next day.

Dockhands are amazing - they get to know your name and are very considerate. We enjoyed the Rusty Hook restaurant which welcomed our dog on the back courtyard. There is a coffee shop about a mile away which we walked to. The showers are basic but are kept very clean and have good water pressure.

What sets apart this marina is the great dock staff that is always present and available to help you. It is the first time I've ever had 4 staff people meet our boat to help us dock. The marina has well kept docks and clean bathroom/showers and laundry facility. Adjacent to the marina are two great restaurants; another bonus! Marina is directly on the ICW and is close to channel if you decide to go outside. Kudos Safe Harbor!

With a New Gas Dock and transient space!!
This is my hailing port; I've been here a few years and it proves itself time and again to be one of the very best places in the Carolinas! The staff is exceptional - they go out of their way for every long term or transient mariner, to make their stay the best it can be. The marina has full fuel services (discounted for Safe Harbor members), pump out, bathrooms and laundry. At the marina are two restaurants, Rusty Hooks and Joseph's Italian Bistro. I've made Rusty's my goto lunch and dinner place - everything on the menu is fabulous (try the bloody Mary special!). Access to the beaches and historic Southport is within a VERY close distance. While navigating the ditch - make a stop by this great marina!

Nice marina, but the face dock where they put transients can get a little bouncy. Good helpful dockhands to get your boat tied up.
Lot of boat traffic, and not everyone adheres to the no wake zone.
Nice restrooms/showers, but only one for each gender.
Rusty Hooks restaurant on site is good, but the marina is a little remote from anything else so Uber ride would be necessary to get into Southport. We did manage to get to the Food Lion via bicycles, but on a busy highway with no sidewalk and not much of a shoulder.
Would visit again if our journey required.

May 1, 2022, returned here for a two day stay. A car rental is close by (1.4 mile) so that is the main reason for staying here this time. Dock crew very friendly and helpful. Decent facilities and docks in very good condition. Being able to go to two close restaurants another plus. Easy docking on the long pier was another plus. No Cable TV which used to be included, but good reception of on-air signals. No longer give Boat US discounts :( on anything. Very disappointed with the daily electric charge well above most marinas normal @ $12 for 30A $18 for 50A . Dock-age $2.35'

Really good experience with dockhands here, nice facility, a captive bar and restaurant. Unfortunately the marina is really far from town due to some creeks that pass between the marina location and Southport itself. No Uber or Lyft service, local taxi service was great, although $20 each way. We moved to Southport Marina after the first night.

Stayed at this nice marina. Dock hands were kind and helpful. They provided us a loaner bike to go to Food Lion for provisions - about a two mile ride with NO sidewalks. The transient boats are put on the fuel dock which is a bit exposed to ICW traffic. Joseph's Italian restaurant was amazing. The other on-site restaurant was closed (Tuesday).

This is our home port. The staff is wonderful! This is a dog friendly marina. There is a large waterfront park just up the main road with public bathrooms. It is a great place to run your dogs or take children to a nice playground. The docks have been rebuilt and as of now there is still construction remnants. There are new commercial laundry facilities for $1.50 per machine and a change machine for quarters. Joseph's Italian Restaurant is open Monday-Saturday. The Rusty hook is open Wednesday-Sunday. So, there is always a place open to dine. The nearest grocery is Food Lion on Oak Island. Oak Island Beach is just over the bridge and has free public parking.

Quaint place to stop and rest, fuel up and two great restaurants. Very friendly staff. I don’t recommend the laundry facilities. The washer didn’t wash my clothes. My light throw on pants were still folded when I took out clothes to the dryer. The dryer on the right side worked better than the other. But my clothes were not washed. Other than that great food at the Rusty Hook...don’t expect to get any quarters for laundry there though.

Spent 2 nights here - great dock help from Bill and staff, made the current easy. A bit out of town, but Bill arranged for an Uber ride so we could go have dinner - the restaurant near the dock is closed on Sunday and Monday. A very easy stop for fuel, pump out.

Excellant dock hands. We were going to anchor for the night, but south wind too strong. Made last minute call to marina for overnight dockage, they were able to squeeze us in, and helped secure our boat. Reasonable fuel and dock rate, with two restaurants up walkway.
