This was one of the best stops on the loop. We were there midweek. They are only collecting the $25 docking fee Friday-Monday. They are also now picking up trash. We were able to take a walk, go paddleboarding and kiteboarding. We saw turtles, nurse sharks and eagle rays. Luckily we were there for a full moon rise and it was breezy so no bugs!

Great spot. Tie to the wall. $35 fee per night. Beach and facilities. Go in at high tide. We went in on a low drawing 4-7" and touched. Not advisable as it adds to the anxiety. We stayed one night. There were mosquitoes.

Great spot during the week. We stayed 3 nights during a NE blow -very protected. We saw no less than 8' in entrance channel with 1.5' tide. Wall is in good shape, excellent & numerous cleats. We didn't see much trash. Even with 20+ knot winds, the bugs are ferocious in the S wooded area sheas the open area around the basin was ok. That said, the ranger told me they are planning to make it day camping only in future because the bugs get so bad for tent campers.
Business Response:
Hello. We are glad you enjoyed your visit to Boca Chita Key. While it may get buggy as the sun goes down, the park has not considered any plans to restrict camping to day-use only. Overnight camping remains available on a first come, first-served basis. The cost for Boca Chita Key and Elliott Key Docking and Camping is $35/night, and $25/night if you are not docking a boat in the harbor. We look forward to your next visit and apologize for any misinformation you may have received.View location on the Waterway Guide Explorer

Beautiful place with a very nice dock wall and lovely scenery. The lighthouse and palm trees are so pretty! We were here on a Tuesday and had it mostly to ourselves. Come early in the day. The name should really be Boca Mosquito!! I'm serious this is where ALL the mosquitoes live. Do not attempt to do the walk path without tons of heavy duty bug spray. There is no breeze inside the path due to the vegetation so nothing to stop the bites! Also, be aware of the lizards. They are plentiful, all sizes and all over the place. There is also a lot of trash on the ground. :( very sad that folks would leave their trash in such a beautiful place but they do. It's still a very cool place to visit and a unique experience.

A beautiful spot, but people do party here. As others have said, it is very busy on weekends. We arrived on an early Sunday afternoon and found two spaces along the wall that would just fit our 40' trawler, but the weather was cold and cloudy. Only about 5 boats stayed overnight. It is $25 a day and you need to pay with a cell phone app. The wood covered concrete walls have plenty of cleats and are in good repair.
Most boats seem to be day trippers. I was told by a regular that in nice weather the weekends are full, but on weekdays there is usually room.View location on the Waterway Guide Explorer

Idyllic spot. Very pretty. Nice area to walk around with many picnic tables and benches and beautiful views all around. Fills up so have a backup plan. We arrived about 1030 a.m. on a Thursday and got the last spot (holds about 20 boats without rafting). About an hour later, at high tide, a group of three to four boats traveling together left. Nice concrete wall with good cleats. No power or water. Very protected. Bugs were not out during the day but got bad at dusk and were bad in the morning. Small fee for camping.

Here now...Been a bunch of times...other reviews are right on the money. Awesome protection from all winds. The only thing you need to know is that after dark if the winds quiet down the no see em’s and mosquitos will reek havoc!! No joke.

Other reviews are correct. This is a Gem of a place. The harbor will fill up, so get there early or mid week if possible. It does fill up with locals, and is entertaining, very family oriented from our perspective. There was music both nights we were there, and was shut down at 10PM. The views are fantastic. A couple small beaches to get wet in. Overall, a great experience.

Don't miss this gem! Easy in, easy out. Well marked channel. No less than 10' at high tide. We are 48', drawing 4'. No size restriction. $25 cash required each day you stay. Incrediable sunsets, beach, snorkeling, walking, swimming and dinghy rides in the bay and Atlantic. Might never leave! Seriously.

Terrific spot to overnite, no electric, or water, but beautiful. highly recommended.
BUT...Stay away on weekends, it becomes little Miami, loud and obnoxious!View location on the Waterway Guide Explorer
