Flamingo & Cape Sable, FL
The Flamingo Basin provides shore-access to the Everglades National Park. The Cape Sable structure is Florida’s southernmost mainland feature and has some beautiful, isolated beaches that have been formed by coastal storm action.
The cape’s relatively high elevation (by Everglades standards) provides the dry land site of the Flamingo Visitors Center. The Visitor Center offers canoe, kayak and bike rentals in addition to daily tours and a small museum that highlights the park’s unique plant and animal life. For activity schedules, trail guides, a backcountry trip planner, natural history and more, visit Flamingo Visitors Center or call 239-695-2945.
