Fayette, MI
The town of Fayette was a Jackson Ore Company town and produced 230,000 tons of iron before closing in 1891. The town is now maintained by the State of Michigan as a historic monument.
Many of the town’s original buildings have been accurately restored, complete with furnishings, including the barbershop, hotel, dance hall, factory buildings and private homes. You can take a hike through the woods to the top of a limestone bluff for a spectacular view.
