Lake Charlevoix extends 13 miles to Boyne City at the southeast end. The south arm of the lake, about 6 miles long, ends at East Jordan. Lake Charlevoix’s shoreline is hilly and pastoral, dotted with the outlines of Victorian summer mansions. The famous Belvedere Club, a summer home association of 89 cottages, spreads across the horizon.

The summer months in Charlevoix bring tourists from all over. From world-class cuisine, delicious craft beer, unique downtown shopping and captivating cultural arts, the area makes a memorable escape. The downtown is well established offering a variety of restaurants, boutiques, art galleries and waterfront parks.
If visiting in mid-July, you may luck out and arrive in time for the Charlevoix Venetian Festival, a family-oriented, multi-day celebration that includes musical acts, carnival rides, block parties, a car show, a street parade and a boat parade.
The beach is the real draw here. There's a scenic waterfront park with swimming and fishing areas, a playground, trails, athletic courts and restrooms.
