Practical Travel Guide
Thousands of miles of trawler travel and the Skipper Bob books are the best we have found, period. There are lots of color catalogs and cruising guides that are fine for local attractions, but not much use for cruisers. Between the chart plotter and Skipper Bob, navigation was never an issue. We always knew what was coming up next on the waterways and where we were going to be able to stay for the night.
YOU NEED THIS BOOK FOR THE ICW
This helped us tremendously! We bought a boat in West Virginia and sailed it down to Orlando Florida. THIS BOOK SAVED OUR LIVES! We use this more than anything else to make decisions on bridges locks restaurants and other anchorages of value. This is a must get if you’re in the ICW. - Good luck

Necessary Equipment
Don't even think about trying to navigate America's Intracoastal waterway without this necessary piece of equipment. Make sure you get the latest edition (it keeps getting published even though the Skipper himself has passed on. The faithful have taken up his torch and keep it alive and burning. What a great tool! Make sure to register for the automatically published updates as they come in on your internet computer. There are many publications, and many other types of ATON's, even other Skipper Bob publications, but this particular one is a MUST HAVE if you are going to do any serious cruising.
