Chain comes up muddy. Free docks easy to dingy to. Take care when dingying in, outboard knocked rocks on bottom much further from seawall than I expected. No grocery store, but gas is easily accessible. There is some wake from boats coming and going, and no wind protection. The town is well worth the stop or detour if you have never been.

Anchorage Review for Upper Broad Creek #1

LOA: 30'
Draft: 4.0'Overall Rating:4Holding:5Wind Protection:5Current Flow:5Wake Protection:5Scenic Beauty:5Ease of Shopping:1Shore Access:1Pet Friendly:1Cell Service:1WiFi:1Good holding in 8 feet. Chain comes up muddy. Good wind protection and no wake. There is a sailing club and private docks, but otherwise no shore access. One bar with AT&T. Stayed here a few times with one or two other boats, but there is miles of room for more. Good staging spot for coming or leaving New Bern, or a close spot to get out into nature and explore the creek.
