We stayed on the wall at the west end of the lock. There were 3 power pedestals with 50, 30 and 15 amp plugs. 100 yard walk to the port a potty. Had dinner at Russo's - traditional Italian food - nothing fancy, just good sized servings of good food.

We nicknamed this stop "gooseville" because of the very large quantity of geese that leave a terrible mess, more than the average. Besides the restaurant, there is nothing to walk to. We'll skip this wall next time.

Well worth the visit to Russo as well. Can't complain about this stop. Trains, yes, it's a part if life around here.

We stayed on the free wall just West of Lock E11 on the North side, Guy Park State Historic Site. The wall is rough concrete but using long ropes and big fenders it shouldn't be a problem. Lots of space for many boats in a park setting. The only downside is the railway and freeway noise which you get used to, at least we did. There are three power pedestals which worked for us, not for our friends however, they always seem to have power issues. Russo's Grill across the park, ~200 yds, is worth the walk, had excellent meal with lots left over. There is also a Liquor store close by if needed. They are rebuilding the Guy Park Manor which was built in 1774.

After leaving Lock E-11 Westbound follow the wall until it makes a slight turn to the north. There is about 500 feet of worn cement bulkhead with bollards and rings. Depth at the bulkhead is over 10 feet. Make sure you have sufficient fenders deployed. At the west end of the wall there are three working power pylons with a 50 and a 30 amp outlet in each one. The bulkhead is exposed to river traffic but, with the lock there, we did not experience any wakes. There is no water available. Cellular service is good for the three major carriers. There is a small park area with picnic tables, trash barrels, and a porta-john before you get to the active railroad tracks. Care should be taken concerning where to place your feet as there are a significant goose population in the area. Russo's Family Italian Restaurant is the other side of the tracks from the lock and serves honest Italian food at a reasonable price. The restaurant is definitely worth the walk.

The free wall just after Lock 11 in Amsterdam, NY is a long wall with power pedestals for the first 4 boats. We tied to a ring at the bow and bollards for the spring and stern lines. We took a short walk to Russo's Grill and had a nice Italian meal. The wall is close to train tracks, so we'll wear earplugs tonight. It's a nice place to stop at a great price (free!).

This would be a great stop if it wasn't for a train every 60-90 minutes with each train blowing its horn as it passes. Did not get too much sleep and wish we'd stopped at the Fonda terminal instead (train horns might be an issue there too ?)..

I have stayed at this wall west of Lock 11 many times. They have 3 power pedestals that include 50 amp power. Water is on the pedestal also. Wall, no charge, 10-12' water at wall. Russo's Italian Cafe 1/2 block walk with good home cooking. Very good stop on the Erie Canal.

Basically lock 11 is inside Guy Park. You can tie up on about a 3 foot wall on either side of the lock, but electricity is only on the far west wall. Lot's of goose droppings and frequent trains, there is a grade crossing at the park entrance so each train has to blow its horn going past the park, day and night.

Park was not well maintained, especially compared to some others on the western Erie Canal that are very well kept up. Everything in town was closed (Independence day holiday) when we were there.
