Wind was less than 10 kts. Far enough from ICW that we didn't feel any wakes. Two or three fishing boats zipped by before dark. Current turned us around twice overnight, but the anchor held. We were the only boat there. It is wide open, so I don't recommend it for windy nights. We saw 4 feet of tide, but another source said to expect as much as 8 feet.

Marina Review for Ballantyne's Cove Marina

Good floating docks, behind a stout seawall. Mostly small commercial fishing boats docked there. Room for about 4 transients. Nice staff, call them on the phone. Showers are $3 (loonies) for 5 minutes.
There is one power outlet for the transient dock, it is a four prong socket, that the staff says is 30 A. We did not have the right plug. It is not a standard two leg 50 A socket. Local fishing boats had splitters that create two 30 A connections.
There's a small carryout seafood and ice cream restaurant right there at the docks open noon to 8 PM. It is very popular with the locsls. There is nothing else near there.View location on the Waterway Guide Explorer

Nice marina. Small, just a few transient slips. Floating docks in great shape. 30 A and 15 A power. John is very helpful with local information and offered me a ride to the grocery. The channel is well marked all the way to the marina entrance, most of the marks are not on the charts. The shallowest I saw was 7.5 feet at low tide in the narrow section halfway there. They have gas and are having diesel equipment installed this year.
Bouctouche town was nice. Half a dozen restaurants, none upscale. La Sagouine and Ponzi's are notably good. Hardware store and full-size grocery store 1.4 miles from the marina. Not a touristy town.View location on the Waterway Guide Explorer

7/1/2023. Fine facilities. Restaurant is closed. Nothing in walking distance. No one on staff spoke English. A bilingual manager at our previous stop made the reservation for us. The rest we did with hand gestures and Google translate.

6/30/2023. Nice club. Active club. Nice people. They found a place for us on short notice late in the day on a busy weekend. Good protection. Nice restaurant. Pool. Marine supply .3 mi walk. 1 mile walk up the hill to the city on a bike path. Bus to the old town very convenient, but only runs weekends.

Well protected from westerly winds. Insignifigant noise from road. Followed chsrt plotter to get past submurged bridge pilings. Submurged pilings were not marked.
