Bridge comment on Amtrak NJTRO Bridge

The bridge is in the closed position until further notice. The truck carrying the parts mentioned in the May 24 post crashed en route to the bridge. Repairs may not be completed until after the summer. This is all per my buddy who is a bridge tender on the Rt 30 bridge - the next bridge north and only a couple miles away. We saw lots of boats turning around at the bridge yesterday. At high tide there is maybe 7' of clearance. No problem for my Montauk!

  Waterway Guide called NJ Transit and confirmed the bridge is not operational, however, crews are working on the repair. We will attempt to get additional details on June 30, 2021.
