Draft: 1.2'The bridge is in the closed position until further notice. The truck carrying the parts mentioned in the May 24 post crashed en route to the bridge. Repairs may not be completed until after the summer. This is all per my buddy who is a bridge tender on the Rt 30 bridge - the next bridge north and only a couple miles away. We saw lots of boats turning around at the bridge yesterday. At high tide there is maybe 7' of clearance. No problem for my Montauk!

Waterway Guide called NJ Transit and confirmed the bridge is not operational, however, crews are working on the repair. We will attempt to get additional details on June 30, 2021.

Draft: 3.0'I just spoke with the Atlantic City train bridge tender and he expects they will have the repair parts by this upcoming Wednesday (May 26, 2021). In the meantime, they are still on a four-hour advance opening request schedule. Here's hoping! The Great Egg Harbor Inlet isn't all that friendly in certain conditions.

Draft: 3.0'This bridge is old and requires frequent downtime to repair. Then it requires 4 hr notice to open. Best to call operator at 201-246-2228 to check on current status and submit a request to open if needed. (We are in hour 3 waiting for crew to arrive to open)

Draft: 2.0'Many thanks to the courteous attendee who was at the bridge on 10/19 around 3pm who made himself available to get me thru. Without his help I’d have had to circle back in mainly no wake zones to Longport and contend with an angry ocean. Many thanks!!
