Winds from the NW at 20-25ks. We anchored in about 18 feet of water with several other boats. We rocked and rolled, but the anchor held well in less than ideal conditions. Not much to look at, other than the highway.

This was my second time stopping here aboard my 34' sailboat. Henry was helpful, and set us up with a guidebook to the area. I used a golf cart to reprovision at Food Lion. The restrooms were SPOTLESS, and the free laundry was very much appreciated. The food at Spoon River Marketplace was not as good as I remember, but the marina is GREAT.

After setting anchor and dining below because of the bugs, we went to sleep. The next morning EVERY SQUARE MILLIMETER was COVERED in Midgees / Fuzzybills! It was incredible! While they don't bite, my attempt at dissuading them from spending the day on my dodger and bimini resulted in my being swarmed by the damn things. Initially I used a shop vac in blow mode, I then switched to a can of RAID. I vacuumed up about 2 pounds of dead/dying bugs as a result. They leave a green goo EVERYWHERE.

Stop is right off the ICW and you would likely be waked by every passing boat. Better anchorages to be found within 5 miles.

Rocna anchor set immediately in firm mud. It is quiet and peaceful, away from the ICW traffic. Nowhere to go ashore, but a great stop.

Pricy, but everything is top shelf. We couldn't believe that the (golf) clubhouse was for our use, but it was. Easy pump out and fueling. Dock hands were great.

Outer docks have recently been refurbished. Dock hands (Kyle,Troy and Mike) were VERY helpful. Men's room looks like what one would expect in a gas station on the seedy side of town. Two dead Palmetto bugs in the shower. Location is GREAT.

Spent one night in October 2020. Really nice people helped us tie up, and connect to shore power. Facilities were OK, but it seemed like there had been rain or crazy high tides that flooded the area, and therefore lots of mud. FIxed docks. We Ubered to Publix and back.
