Bridge comment on Key Bridge

I've used the three center spans or arches to cross with 3 foot draft. Generally the crew shells go upriver on MD side and downriver on VA side. Kayaks and SUPs go across as they want. Recommend leaving the piling with red light to starboard as you proceed upriver- although I don't think you'll run aground unless you cross under the spans closest to either shore line.

Anchorage Review for Potomac River - Three Sisters

Plenty of room on weekdays. We anchored in 20-25 ft with mud bottom. Anchor set first try. For your first visit: Recommend approach Three Sisters on VA side, leaving them to starboard and anchor upstream. Shallow draft vessels can anchor on MD side. Same for downriver - benefit of downriver - have your passengers swim / wade up to Three Sisters and float back down to you. I got a workout retrieving kids downriver. Lots of paddle boarders and kayakers. Very scenic, lots of fun.
