Three Sisters - very popular on weekends. Plenty of room on weekdays. We anchored in 20-25 ft with mud bottom. Anchor set first try. For your first visit: Recommend approach Three Sisters on VA side, leaving them to starboard and anchor upstream. Shallow draft vessels can anchor on MD side. Same for downriver - benefit of downriver - have your passengers swim / wade up to Three Sisters and float back down to you. I got a workout retrieving kids downriver. Lots of paddle boarders and kayakers. Very scenic, lots of fun.
