Beautiful area with crystal clear water but I was eaten alive by mosquitos. We weren't even anchored near the mangroves and I think it's the worse mosquito attack I have ever suffered . Beware and bring protection and mosquito netting.

No-see-ums near the island so stay back a ways. Good swimming/snorkeling in shallows around island. Beautiful spot.

Our pre-anchor soundings showed 7' almost everywhere. Typical Florida keys bottom, grass and sand. The water is clear so it is easy to find the bottom you want. Decent holding.
Isolated, scenic, good cell service.View location on the Waterway Guide Explorer

Stay a little back from the island to minimize the bugs.

Anchor only on the south side in 5-7 foot range. Watch your depth sounder here as several shallow areas near cuts and close to shore. Depths on North side are shallow, but beautiful for kayaking Or SUP. Channels on sides are deep close to shore for first 5-15 feet but then get very shallow sometimes breaking surface. We’ve spent quite a few nights here over the last 7 years with 3 in December. We were the only boat anchored here which is typical. Very few other boats come, maybe a few small fishing skiffs. It’s far enough from ICW that few boat wakes make it to the Anchorage, but you can see them pass by.
You can not land on the islands so not pet friendly.
No WiFi but cell service was good for Verizon and Google Fi.
A good amount of wildlife. Great place to get away.
