NOTE: Per Florida Statute 327.4109

The owner or operator of a vessel or floating structure may not anchor or moor such that the nearest approach of the anchored or moored vessel or floating structure is:
1. Within 150 feet of any marina, boat ramp, boatyard, or other vessel launching or loading facility;
2. Within 300 feet of a superyacht repair facility. For purposes of this subparagraph, the term "superyacht repair facility" means a facility that services or repairs a yacht with a water line of 120 feet or more in length; or
3. Within 100 feet outward from the marked boundary of a public mooring field or a lesser distance if approved by the commission upon request of a local government within which the mooring field is located. The commission may adopt rules to implement this subparagraph.

We anchored here for a short evening while moving through the area. It's a huge anchorage with good protection from west and north west winds. The ground is muddy and holds very well. There was lots of boat wake during day light hours but none when it was dark.

A Stuart local, this anchorage is for general overnight before moving on , as it doesn't offer any shore access and is WIDE OPEN.

Protection is limited but the ground holds well. The shoal shown on the charts extends further north than is indicated on the charts. Depth fell to 5' while crossing the shoal both times at low tide. Navigate with caution.

Convenient spot to anchor before starting up the Okeechobee Waterway. Wide open with plenty of swing room and depths around 7 feet. No dinghy access but pretty close to the city of Stuart free day use dock.

Anchor with flashling G19 as a landmark. Lot of boat traffic early and late in day. Terrific for Stuart Air Show.
