Overall good wind protection all around. Good holding in 5-8 foot depths. TMobile service was ok. Did not get off boat and no public areas were seen.

Bruce anchor held tight all night with 20 knot gusts and we didn't budge. Probably 6 feet, and had to wash silt off the bottom of the chain and anchor. Will definitely stay again. Zero to one bar of Verizon. Beautiful and quiet.

We anchored right up against the east shore near the white house (unoccupied?) with 6' at high tide. Very muddy so be prepared to clean that anchor as it comes up. Several sailboats anchored well to our west. Perfectly calm night so no concern about wind protection. A few small wakes in the afternoon and early morning, but no concern. Cell service varied from 3 bars to none.

Approach seems shallow but stayed around 6 to 7 feet. Good holding and nice views. Were met while having morning coffee by two incoming shrimp boats. Friendly crews on both. Will anchor here again.

The secret is to go farther in where you get good protection from a south wind. Anchor towards the south shore and east of the 5 ft line as shown on the charts. It is deeper than the charts indicate, about 7 ft as you snug up behind the point of land to protect you from a south wind. There is a strip of sand on the south shore for pet relief. Be sure to pick up when done. Big shrimp boats use this harbor all the time.
