WWG seems to have their review of this anchorage - Town Creek - confused with Taylor Creek, which is on the other side of the town. We didn't actually anchor here but were at the westernmost t-head at Homer Smith Marina for a week for repairs. I can see 10 boats anchored on the west side of the bridge and 3 boats anchored on the east side of the bridge. So there is definitely room for more than 3 - 4 boats. The Maritime Museum is on the other side of town, near Taylor Creek. It is busy and industrial and kind of ugly here, not somewhere I personally would want to anchor for more than overnight.

Thanks for the review and for using Waterway Guide.

We will have a representative visit this site and revise the description as needed. Regarding the Maritime Museum, the facility just north of the US70 Bridge is the museum Gallants Channel Annex.

The anchorage at city docks was full so we tried this anchorage as all marinas were full. We were only 2 boats here, space for maybe 3-4 more. There was some current but not much, very quiet anchorage, almost no boat traffic. We needed to try couple of time to set the anchor, managed on 3rd try. Usually we have no issues with setting anchor. Would stop again if the city dock anchorage that is prettier is full
