Be aware that tugs with cargo use the ICW. Make sure you're well away from the channel. Very light current, wind protection. Limited pet access on a small strip of firm sand across from the anchorage.

It has good all-around protection and you can find shore access for your dog by entering one of the mosquito canals and barging up against the band to let the dog out on dry ground.
