This was a surprisingly good anchorage. Bashi Creek and Bashi Creek Alternate are directly across the river from each other; the creek (alternate) being on the west side and the east side the shoreline at a bend in the river. We tried the creek (alternate), but the water was low (check the water gauge at the entrance on the starboard side), and while the depth was 10-12 feet, the channel was too narrow to turn our 44-foot boat around to get back out. The opposite side was a bend in the river with 8–10-foot depth where we easily anchored along the shoreline. We put out a stern anchor, but I am not sure it was needed with the current. It was an easy dinghy ride across the river to the boat ramp at Bashi Creek to take the dogs for a walk in a very pet-friendly park area. The river traffic was light, and even with a couple of barges passing in the early evening the wake was minimal.

We entered the creek. Went past the boat ramp up to the first turn was able to spin the boat around facing back out towards the river. Highly suggest stern Anchor. Overall a good experience. Keep your ears out for the bird owls. There's a bunch of them, nestled in the woods up there.

Narrow with fallen trees and overhanging branches on both sides . 10+ feet at entrance. Pool at 32.9 feet. We went well into the creek and anchored in 8-10 feet and tied off to a tree. Just enough room to turn our 42 foot boat around in the morning. If you have sonar, check the bottom for logs, looks like there are many until you get into shallower water. Very protected, we hardly moved all night.

Narrow, overhanging branches. Downed logs partially block the entrance, but you can still get in. Little to no current, wind may dictate anchor set, stern anchor or tree tie suggested. Multiple logs and stumps suggest use of a trip line. We saw 8-10 ft depths. Our Grand Banks 42, LOA 45' looked too long to turn around in the creek so we backed out, were the only boat there that night. Coffeeville pool level 33.0.

Narrow, with overhanging branches, but a welcome stop off of the river and our top choice after Demopolis. Depth was 9' well past boat launch. Early arrivals need to go in far enough for late arrivals to get off the river. Good holding in mud; no current and stern anchor recommended. Lumber everywhere, but we didn't foul either anchor. Quiet and peaceful, with a small dock at the boat ramp for easy shore access. 1-2 bars of T-Mobile reception.

Tight but doable. 6 boats with two double rafts and two singles. No wind so boats did not move all night. Slept well. 5 feet at the entrance with 8 feet where we were rafted. We were the last boat in so we backed out.

Nice anchorage if you can fit in. We are 41' and were able to spin around with about 8-10' to spare in front and back. Deep water (8'+) all the way to the snags where you can not go any further. Room for 4 boats or more if you raft. We used bow and stern anchor. They came up a little muddy but held well in what little wind came through the trees.

10-29-23 Coffeeville pool 32.9 feet. Minimum 8 feet depths to anchorage about 400 feet past boat ramp, anchored in 10 feet of water. Used stern anchor as passing tows sometimes cause boat to swing to shore. We turned our 45 ft boat around before departure. We have anchored with several boats at this anchorage in the past.

Probably not a great spot if you are over 40 feet in length. But especially if you are 36 feet or less it is a great anchor. We anchored up about 100 yards up from the boat ramp. In the morning we took our dinghies up to the end of the creek, highly recommend this trip. That night we had 4 boats in the creek, with room for more. We were comfortably able to turn around our 32 foot Nordic Tug on leaving.

Bashi is a very tight anchorage. Very narrow but deep enough to turn the boat around. It was 9' right up to the shore! There was a lot of floating vegetation the further you went in. We used a stern anchor to keep us in the middle of the creek. Several branches from trees hang into the passage.

I was leery of this anchorage based on other reviews but tried it anyway because of its location and the absence of other good options within a reasonable distance. Entered creek late afternoon May 13, 2022. Water depths were good, never saw less then 6ft at entrance with more then 9ft in the middle between the banks further in. Fallen trees along both sides but our 53' Carver raised pilothouse had no trouble navigating between what I estimate was a 25+ ft open path. We traveled in about 100 yards past the boat ramp, moved to the starboard side (south) until depth dropped to less than 6ft and dropped the anchor. I backed to a downed tree and tied a line from stern. Very quite, peaceful and the heave tree cover made it noticeable cool after being in the sunny upper 80's in the river. Only saw a few boat at ramp, more the a few hundred feet away. About 6:00am we untied from the tree, pulled up anchor from what appeared to be a firm muddy bottom (anchor fairly clean) and backed out to the river. This is a very remote and primitive site and cell service using Verizon and T-Mobile hotspot was weak.

    Coffeeville Pool at 32.82.

One of the better anchorages from here south. Room for about 8 or more boats depending on size of course, and if everyone cooperates. It has always been over 6' deep for us and no less than 4' 6" deep at the edge of the shoreline. Anchor 200' or so past the boat ramp which makes a good landing for the dog.
