The bottom is primarily sand and sea grass and you can drop the hook in sandy patches. The wind protection is good from the North and East and seas are flat. You have to watch your depth as you approach but we anchored in 8-10ft and had an easy stand up paddle to the beach. There are no services but the beach is beautiful and we were able to pick up service with our iPhones (AT&T). We can't wait to go back.
