We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at SCYC, both at the dock and on a mooring ball. Just wanted to point out that the marina does not have its own restrooms. You can use the restaurant bathrooms when they are open, but you are out of luck overnight.

$5.75/gal for diesel. On busy days, vessels queue up to the N of the fuel dock. We had to wait over an hour, holding station, to let the 4 boats ahead of us get fuel.

We stayed on a mooring ball here in the North Field for 4 days. The restaurant was great but the drinks were very high priced. We did enjoy the Peanut Pina Coloda. We also enjoyed the specials they had for the Super Bowl Sunday Party. The chicken wings were very small but had very good flavor. The buffet was a good amount of food and had some very good fish, chicken, and ribs. The mooring field was rolling a little at times but not too bad. The last night the winds shifted to coming from N/ NE. All boats who were near the current were swining in lots of directions all night. We were swinging over the top of our mooring ball. Also a couple of nights with winds 20 to 25, the people anchored in the current were dragging in the North anchorage. There are 3 nearby grocery stores all very well stocked. We got some amazing local made bread at the Pink Store. The mooring balls are first come first serve so pick up a ball then head into the office to register and pay.

I agree with all the other reviewers, but if you choose to pick up a mooring ball be prepared to be rocked all day. Large center console tour boats are in and out of the marina all day and they blast straight through the mooring field.

Stayed for 10 days at Staniel and had a very good time. Spent time snorkeling the Thunderball Gratto, went to pig beach and fished from our dingy. Staff here was very friendly and the food was good! Easy to dock and the nurse sharks are fun to watch and pet. With two stores on the island within walking distance it was easy to get provisions. If you can get through to them on the radio you may have to call in as them seem to miss several radio calls. Overall a great experience.

Nice marina and facilities, great restaurant. Docking can be hectic as it is a very, very busy marina. Staff very accommodating, would stay again.

Probably our favorite marina in Bahamas. Staff is efficient. Restaurant & bar are great and prices very reasonable. Groceries and laundry nearby. Can't stay on dock in a strong westerly.

Another great island to stop at. There are two stores near the marina (pink and blue buildings) to get all your grocery needs. The runway was in poor condition and closed when we visited last.
WG Editor Comment:
Thanks for the review. The runway was fixed and the airport reopened in November 2015.View location on the Waterway Guide Explorer
