Blue Pointe Seafood is now using overnight delivery to get products to consumers fresher and cheaper.

Blue Pointe Seafood LLC, a popular Eastern Maryland based supplier of fresh seafood specialties, has begun direct home delivery of its products. Customers are now able to place orders through the company’s website.

Local and nationwide delivery of orders is by United Parcel Service.

“We offer striped bass, yellow fin tuna, gulf shrimp, picked Maryland crab meat, and Chesapeake Bay oysters—very fresh and at very competitive prices,” says Cornell Roberts, the company’s manager. “Our freshly picked jumbo lump crab meat is an especially popular item.”

In business for over 30 years, operating out of a storefront which was a local landmark in Eastern Maryland’s Kent Narrows district, the family owned enterprise benefits from both name recognition and the enduring popularity of the region’s seafood, he notes.

According to Roberts, expanding beyond its traditional customer base in the Washington DC and Baltimore region using modern packaging and airfreight has been a natural progression of the company’s marketing.

“Eliminating the middleman means our seafood is cheaper and much fresher than what you’ll find in the average grocery store. We sell fresh caught striped bass for as little as $14.50 per pound, while that in supermarkets will cost more and may be up to a week old,” says Roberts.

“We are passionate about seafood and want to share that passion with our customers. Whether local or national, we provide our customers with far tastier options.”
