When there’s ice on the decks and you’re cold and in a hurry, you tend to forget that half the fun of getting there is the journey.
Experienced boaters such as ourselves are typically dealing with questionable early or late-season conditions and are in a rush to cross the often surprisingly frisky Neuse River or the Albermarle Sound, a 15-mile stretch of water that can (and often does) seem endless as we race to or from warmer weather.
