Cayo Costa, FL

Cayo Costa, FL

Spanish fishermen from Havana gave 6-mile-long Cayo Costa its name (translated as “Coastal Key”). Located at the north end of Pine Island Sound on the south side of Boca Grande Pass, this almost-uninhabited island (home to a swine of feral pigs) is accessible only by boat.

Both Punta Blanca Island and Cayo Costa are part of Cayo Costa State Park. This beautiful island features deserted beaches and fabulous dark starry skies. Tent camping and rustic cabin rentals are available.
