Known as Michigan’s Art Coast, Saugatuck is located about 90 miles across the lake from either Milwaukee or Chicago, making it a favorite cruising destination. With more than 30 art galleries and a bevy of specialty shops and upscale boutiques, the town is an artist’s retreat. Saugatuck Center for the Arts (269-857-2399) features plays, films and lectures in a former pie factory.
