Albion is the home of George Pullman, inventor of the railroad’s Pullman Sleeping Car. Legend has it that George dreamed up the invention as he watched passengers ply the Erie Canal in packet boats in front of his home.
As the county seat, Albion has an especially impressive collection of Medina sandstone buildings–civic, religious and private–most located south of town on the main street.
