Photos and videos: Waterspout spins up near Chesapeake Bay Bridge on Saturday

As a cold front pushed east of Washington on Saturday morning, it triggered a thunderstorm over the Chesapeake Bay, which spawned a picturesque waterspout.

The waterspout, which is a tornado over the water, caused no damage or injuries, but was photographed by many people along the shores of the bay, boaters, and on the Bay Bridge.

“Some drivers on the Eastern Shore between the Bay Bridge and Kent Narrows stopped along the roadside to watch the waterspout churn over the water but the storm otherwise had a minimal impact on traffic,” WTOP reported.

Many beachgoers at Sandy Point State Park also witnessed the spectacle.
