Join the commemoration of a pivotal moment in American history at the 250th Anniversary of the Yorktown Tea Party! This monumental event is set for Thursday, November 7, at Riverwalk Landing in Yorktown, Virginia. Attendees will honor the bold actions of Thomas Nelson, Jr. and his fellow patriots who, in 1774, made a stand against British tea taxes by tossing chests of tea into the York River.

Event Highlights:

• 10:00 AM: The commemoration ceremony at the Riverwalk Landing Stage features a performance by The Fifes and Drums of York Town.
• 10:30 AM: A procession to the Colonial Seaport Foundation's tall ship Luna for a re-enactment of the tea dumping.
• 10:00 AM - 3:00 PM: Activities and exhibits include:
  • The 250th Anniversary Yorktown Tea Party Exhibition in the Freight Shed.
  • Deck tours of the historic ships Godspeed and Luna.
  • A tea smuggling exhibit at the Watermen's Museum.
  • A photo station for guests to pose as patriots in action.
  • Living history stations along Historic Main Street and tours of historic buildings.
• 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM: A public concert at the Watermen's Museum caps off the day.

A free, accessible Yorktown Trolley will be available from 11 a.m. to facilitate attendee movement around the event sites.
