Great location and plenty of deep water; they pack the boats in here and raft boats. My acrobatic skills have diminished since my youth and based on active captain reviews, I was concerned about climbing over other boats to get off the boat. I called Clif Payne ahead and he arranged for an easy dock spot. Very nice people. Bar and restaurant right at the docks. Different from most marinas in that they don't use VHF (just come near the large American flag and they will direct you); they dock boats in unimaginable positions (but it all seems to work) and no wifi. Pump out boat comes to your boat and is free (tips only). Bring a quarter for the shower. Nice vibe at family owned and run Paynes.

Descent place, price is reasonable. Not fancy by any means but they have a nice bar and a restaurant to take out from with a good variety. Biggest complaint is the bar right at the marina plays loud music until midnight, so don’t expect to Get to sleep early.

We are located at the southern end of the harbor. Please follow the marked navigational channel until you come to the end of our Marina. Please head for the large American Flag on the East side of the dock. Once you get to the flag by the fuel dock one of our employees will signal you and direct you to your dock space. You do not need to call us unless you have a problem finding us or have a specific question.

PLEASE NOTE: We have fixed finger piers, and most all boats will be tied up stern-to. We have some floating docks but space is limited. THERE IS A HIGH LIKELIHOOD YOU WILL BE RAFTED.

Payne's Dock has been a Block Island landmark for decades. Family run and owned for generations. The last family owned and managed dock/marina on Block island. Located at the south end of the Great zew Harbor, we are easy to get to and accessible for vessels up to 300'.

Block Island is located in the Block Island Sound very close to Newport, Long Island, Connecticut and is very easy to get in and out of. There are many fun things to do on Block Island: great beaches, bike riding, hiking and walks, boating and kayaking, or just enjoy a cocktail and a gorgeous sunset.
