Harbor East is a great location and has quality floating docks, restrooms/showers, and lounge. Our experience was poor due to lack of service. There was only 1 employee visible during our entire stay. He was helpful when asked to assist with specific tasks. He did help us tie up, only to realize we were in 5’7” of water at mid-tide when the reservation showed draft at 5’. So, we had to move and tie up again. The docks were covered in bird poop, so WE had to hose that off, but it still got onto our lines as they don’t keep it clean. We were given a keycard and a code written on a Post It note. Our keycard failed to open the gate at 10pm. Called the security number on the fence and was told they had no way to get us in. Fortunately, another boater allowed us in. We requested a pump out at a specific time - no one showed. I had to call to ensure someone (same employee) was in the office to exchange dollars for quarters to do laundry. The lightbulb in the laundry area is out.

Inadequate staffing. It appeared only one person was handling the marina office and assisting arriving yachts tie into the dock. I raised the marina on the radio and was advised to stand-by for 5 min. But after waiting 30 min, I came into the outside dock and docked myself.

Harbor East Marina is at the base of the new Legg Mason building. When you have the 'Domino Sugar' sign off your port stern the marina will be visible to your starboard bow, hail us on channel 16/68. Fairway and slips clearly marked. On windy days, pay particular attention to the direction/speed of the wind, as it tends to change rapidly.
