Governor's Harbour is the capital of Eleuthera and the center of commerce and government business offices for the district. The first seat of government was established here, and it is one of the most attractive, long-established communities in the Bahamas. It is the largest town on the island, with pretty Victorian-era houses overlooking the harbor from Buccaneer Hill.
