The Bay of Chaleur is the largest bay in the Gulf of Saint Lawrence. Named “bay of warmth” by Jacques Cartier in 1534, it is known for excellent fishing and for fickle and sometimes dangerous conditions. Plan your travel day carefully to minimize unpleasantness.
