The Ontario/Quebec border passes through the eastern end of Lake St. Francis. From here until it reaches the Atlantic Ocean, the St. Lawrence River lies entirely within the Province of Quebec. The lake is a large, open body of water that is relatively shallow. It can kick up a bit if the wind has been blowing. Lake St. Francis offers services, mostly on the north shore at Summerstown, South Lancaster and near Bainsville and on the south shore at Saint Anicet and Port Lewis.
