Had to stay up all night boat bashing against the dock in the swell then it calmed down as the wind veered. Can't use the laundry here but the hotel have one $3.50 wash and dry by room 6. The liquor store opens on Fridays? And the restaurant on Thursdays? The other liquor store delivers for $5 cash and does great food the driver is very helpful saba

Great spot for 1 night. Beware of a South wind, rollers will be rocking you. also, the "power pole" had the breakers off and the breaker box is locked, so no power. A local guy told me yeah, they have it off.

Enter Rock Hall Harbor with 7.5 feet MLW in the entrance channel between Green 3 and Green 5. Turn into the eastern channel at Red 2e, proceed to Red 4E and then turn north to dock between Red 14 and Red 12 in 9+ feet MLW. The Free Dock in Rock Hall is also the loading dock for the local fishermen and it is appreciated if transient boats do not take up too much space. Part of the dock area for transients is a five foot high bulkhead that is a little rough. We used our fender boards for protection. The northern half of the wall has a newer 3 foot high dock with less intimidating pylons. There is a single post that has in interesting mix of electrical outlets on it but none of them were live. There are no water or trash receptacles on the dock. There are bathrooms at the Bayside Landing Park but they were still closed early season.
The parking lot is large, runs up to the bulkhead, and is used not only to park vehicles and trailers filled with crab pots, but also as the loading and unloading space for the local fishing fleet. Things get started on fisherman's time here, which was 4:30 am pre-season. The disturbance was not as bad as we feared and, after the boats left, we fell back to sleep, The harbor has a large breakwater protecting it but we still experienced wakes moving in from the bay even when there were no boats around. We can imagine that, in a strong south wind, it might be uncomfortable on the dock.
Rock Hall appears to be more of a working town than one filled with summer homes. Although there are eight marinas in the area and plenty of pleasure boats, the harbor is also home for a large fleet of local fishing boats. Watermen were unloading crab pots on the dock in preparation for the season. We were pre-season and mid-week so almost every restaurant was closed, prepping for the crowds.View location on the Waterway Guide Explorer

Hard to beat the price! Great stop. Short walk to groceries (a little pricey) and a farm stand with some natural food options. We even called around for divers and got our bottom cleaned while here.

This was an awesome stop. Watermans Crab House has killer food. I did have one of the locals warm me that when you get a strong wind from the South or South East that it was hard to get off the dock.

Nice stopover, The free Wall is in good shape and secure, Groceries 1 mile away, hardware 1.2 miles, laundry 1 mile,
Note: there is a sign that states "No Transients" but the local Sheriff informed me that it was not intended for "boat Transients" but for a Parking lot/land transient issue.

Great place to stop. 8ft of water along the dock when we docked. Went down to 7ft. Did not see it lower. Entrance was about 8ft. Stepped/paced off about 130 ft of "low" dock along the bulkhead (Along the left/west side) and 4 steps up to the parking lot level. If your deck is higher there is more bulkhead at the parking lot level to the right. It is said to NOT dock any farther than marker 14 to allow locals to offload. It is early in the season and almost nothing going on. Very quiet. No other boats while we were there. Plenty of room for several boats. Maybe half mile or less to grocery and main street with some boutiques? Mostly marinas near by. Bikes are better but nice place to walk around. There was a nautical consignment but it was only open Fri and Sat (Seasonal?) No power or water. Just a bulkhead around working docks. There are some coffee shops and restaurants near by but maybe half a mile walk. Some marina restaurants closer.
