Anchorage Review for Long Key Bight
Reviewed by: Tim Snyder on May 19, 2022
Vessel Type: Sail
LOA: 38'
Draft: 5.5'Overall Rating:Holding:Wind Protection:Current Flow:Wake Protection:Scenic Beauty:Shore Access:This is a shallow anchorage with 6' at MLLW despite 8-12' in Channel Five. If approaching Hawk Channel from east, give #2 marker a wide berth as shoaling extends S to SSE with less than 6'. All in all a peaceful anchorage with a few catamarans anchoring farther into the bight. Grass and sand bottom. Shoreline is mangroves in the state park. US-1 is far enough away to diminish any noise.
