Journey's End is a large facility capable of doing any kind of work. Hamilton Marine is right there. Easy walk to town for restaurants. The heads and showers are clean, and the laundry machines are only $1 each, washer and dryer.

Unfortunately, on our second visit this trip they had us on the North face dock, on the far side of the enormous steel building which is visible from across the harbor. This meant long walks to the facilities, and absolutely no WiFi signal. There isn't much protection on this side. It's open to the harbor, and wakes from all the boats coming and going from their North basin. The docks and ramps on this side make all kinds of clanging and creaking noises in the wakes and waves.

Moral of the story, make sure you're on the South side, or take a mooring, instead. You'll roll just as much, only it'll be quieter and you may even pick up a WiFi signal.

This harbor is very tight. Bow and stern anchors required. There are one or two Land Trust moorings, but again, not much room to swing. There are a number of private commercial moorings and floats, leaving little room to anchor. Smaller boats can get far up the cove, while larger ones will need to stay out by the old CG station (now privately owned.) Lots of great hiking ashore, but no pets allowed. Good protection from anything but South winds. Can get rolly at the mouth.

We took a mooring, $35/night in 2020. Staff was very friendly. We didn't go ashore, but found the harbor well protected. There did not appear to be power or water on the docks. The restaurant seemed to be doing well, lots of locals coming and going in boats.

You cannot anchor here. There are underwater cables. You need to take one of the handful of white moorings, all first-come-first-served. The island is great for exploring, with fantastic views. Normally the lighthouse is open for tours (except during pandemics, like 2020.) Protection is good from anything from East, South or West. North wouldn't be so good.
