In fact all arms of St Inigoes Creek are relatively deep and offer good anchoring and wind protection. Lucas Cove carries its depth almost to its headwaters. This creek provides some of the best protection of any creek in the area. The shoreline is private however, since public property extends to mean high tide in Maryland, many boaters use Careening Point. At the headwaters of Milburn Creek, is the reconstructed 17th century Godiah Spray plantation exhibit, part of Historic St. Mary’s City, which is the site of the original colony of Maryland.
