This dock is rough and can be hard to get off and on but no one seems to mind if you tie up there. Just stay out of the way of the workboats that sometimes unload here.

We are slip holders here and especially enjoy the well-kept pool, the well-tended grounds and the three clean bathhouses. Excellent wind and wake protection during the worst storms. The dockmaster (Lisa) is very responsive and the facility has won "Best of the Bay" several times. The on-site Stingray Point Lighthouse Replica is an exact, full-scale recreation of the original 1858 lighthouse that stood watch at Stingray Point.

Small boats speed in and out of the creeks, so best to avoid those too. Both restaurants (Crazy Crab and Tommys) have dinghy docks but expect you to eat with them. Maybe ask at Tommys about leaving your dinghy at their extensive dock while you stroll the Main St. No shopping or provisions but a popular ice cream store and, of course, the "must see" museum.

Friendly locals on a workboat greeted us as we rowed in. From there, 3 block walk will get you to the Old Mill area with a cafe, winery, distillery and brewery, plus all that Talbot St. has to offer.

Stopped for diesel. Pump was easy to access and the price was good. Dockmaster provided lots of history and useful information on the island.

Took a mooring with no regrets! Used the free bicycles to visit the nearby West Marine and explore the island. Had dinner at the on-site Dry Dock, which was remarkably good. All staff we encountered were very friendly and facilities were clean. Has a nice, park-like setting, even though it is obviously a working boatyard.

What a lovely facility! Friendly and modern. We were located on a wide floating dock. Staff was extremely helpful with docking and at check-in. Nice pool and loaner bikes. Multiple clean bath houses. We even got complimentary Smith Island cake samples! Close to waterfront and restaurants (which are mostly closed on Monday and Tuesday).

Our third stay at Ocean Yacht and it gets better and better. Friendly staff, clean, air-conditioned restrooms/showers and the new lounge are all noteworthy. There is no better way to catch a concert at Portsmouth Pavillion than to dock here! Sit in your cockpit and listen to sound check before ambling over. Excellent!
