Description:
Going downriver, favor the east (port) side. Depths should be 6 feet or more. Do not attempt to enter the Gulf through this pass unless you are in your dinghy and the waters are calm. Currents are tricky, so make sure your anchor is set, as dragging anchor here could be disastrous.

For local info on the San Bernard River area, check out the Friends of the River San Bernard. As of fall 2023, there is significant shoaling at the mouth of the river - report by the Friends of the River.

Went in on low tide but once through the mouth it opened in deeper waters. Watch out for crab pots. Definitely a beautiful spot and worth the effort.
